Black Color
The exhibition of works by Volodymyr Patyk, one of the most prominent phenomena in the history of Ukrainian artistic culture of the second half of the 20th century and the beginning of the 21st century.
In the project "Black Color," we present a selection of works spanning from landscapes and still lifes to semantic abstraction, with a vividly expressed tonal palette, versions of the author's plastic language, and a compositionally rhythmic organization of space. The balance between the dark, dramatically intensified color scheme and the open, pure colors represents the measure of worldview that contributed to the emergence and affirmation of the artist's phenomenon.
