Smolskyi Yurii

Born in 1976 in Lviv.
 Senior lecturer at the Department of Monumental Painting at Lviv National Academy of Arts (LNAU).
 Studied at the Lviv College of Decorative and Applied Arts named after I. Trush and Lviv National Academy of Arts.
 Since 2003, he has been teaching at the Department of Graphic Design and Monumental Painting at LNAU.
 From 2005 to 2011, he served on the jury of the annual All-Ukrainian Academic Drawing Contest "Silver Stroke" for students of institutions of higher education of the 1st and 2nd accreditation levels (Luhansk).

His works are part of the collections of the Lviv National Gallery of Arts named after B.G. Voznytsky, the Academy of Chinese Painting (Hangzhou), the Union of Ukrainians in Great Britain (London), and the Ukrainian Institute of America (New York).

He works in drawing, easel, and monumental painting techniques.

Exhibitions and Projects:
  •  1996 – Participation in the Canadian-Ukrainian Parliamentary Program (CUPP). Work on icons for Ukrainian Orthodox and Greek Catholic churches in Toronto.
  •  1997 – Participation in the festival "Days of Galicia in France." Exhibition of painting in Angers, Montreuil, and Bopreau.
  •  2001 – Participation in the academic drawing contest among students of Kyiv, Kharkiv, and Lviv Academies of Arts. Diploma for best constructive solution (Kharkiv).
  •  2002 – Diploma at the exhibition of graduation works from Kyiv, Kharkiv, and Lviv Academies of Arts (Lviv).
  •  2006 – Wall painting for the "Panorama" restaurant interior (Opera Hotel, Lviv).
  •  2007 – Participation in the painting exhibition of graphic design department teachers, dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the department (Lviv).
  •  2007 – Participation in the art project "Human: Phenomenon and Problem" by teachers and alumni of the Department of Monumental Painting, LNAU (Lviv).
  •  2010 – Participation in the art project "Beauty and Drama of the Human Body" by teachers and alumni of the Department of Monumental Painting, LNAU (Lviv).
  •  2011 – Participation in the project "Ambassadors of the Art School" (Hangzhou, China).
  •  2011 – Participation in the international art plein air in Banja Luka (Bosnia and Herzegovina).
  •  2012 – Solo painting exhibition "Premonition" (Lviv, ICONART).
  •  2012 – Participation in the international project "Obok siebie… na papierze bez granic" (Lublin, Poland).
  •  2013 – Participation in the "Galicia" project as part of cooperation with the Union of Ukrainians in Great Britain (London, England).
  •  2014 – Paintings for the St. Michael Church in Pechenizhyn village.
  •  2015 – Participation in the project "Iconart: Visions of a World Unseen" (New York, USA).
  •  2016 – Participation in the project "Collage" by the teachers of the Department of Graphic Design at LNAU (Lviv, Lviv National Gallery of Arts named after B.G. Voznytsky).
  •  2016 – Participation in the project "(De)(Re)Construction" as part of the 3rd Ukrainian Art Triennale "Ukrainian Slice" (Wrocław, Poland).
  •  2016 – Organization and participation in the painting exhibition in Rome, celebrating the 70th anniversary of LNAU (Gallery of the "Holy Sophia" Center).
  •  2017 – Participation in the exhibition of works by artists of the Lviv Watercolor School within the Lviv Watercolor Week Workshop International Symposium (Lviv, V.Stefanyk National Library of Ukraine).
  •  2019 – Participation in the art project "12+1" by teachers and students of the Department of Monumental Painting, LNAU (Lviv, RM Gallery).
  •  2019 – Participation in the international art plein air of the Sichuan Fine Arts Institute in Chongqing, China. (Artistic activities, sketching, and creation: Huguang Guild Hall of Chongqing, Li Xiang Lake, Wulong Lanba, Dazu Rock Carvings - Eye of the World Discovery of Chongqing, 18-24.10.2019, Sichuan Fine Arts Institute, Chongqing, China).
  •  2020 – Participation in the project "Anticipation+Immunity" (Museum of Contemporary Ukrainian Art of the Korsaks, Lutsk).
